International Soprano Lorraine Nawa Jones, was born in New Zealand but Italy is where she has lived and worked all her adult life. She commenced her vocal studies in London, a Major London County Council Scholarship, enabled her to to perfect her vocal studies in Italy and later in New York City. Tito Gobbi and Gianna Pederzini were her inspired teachers and in 1972 Lorraine Nawa Jones made her professional debut with the Israel National Opera in the roles of Desdemona, Nedda, and Mimi. After winning the Rome Opera House Competition, Lorraine Nawa Jones was engaged to sing Thais, Lucrezia Borgia and Bruckner’s Te Deum, international recognition followed.
