陳小奇1982年本科畢業於中山大學中文系，職稱為一級作家。現任中國音樂家協會流行音樂學會常務副主席、中國音樂文學學會副主席、廣東省音樂家協會副主席、廣東省流行音樂協會主席、廣東省作家協會副主席、廣東音樂文學學會會長、廣東省粵港澳促進會副會長、廣州市音樂家協會主席、華南理工大學流行音樂研究所名譽所長、華南師範學院音樂學院客座教授。創作詞曲作品兩千首多首，獲各類獎項兩百多個，代表作品有《濤聲依舊》、《大哥你好嗎》、《我不想說》、《九九女兒紅》、《跨越巔峰》、《又見彩虹》、《高原紅》等。《跨越巔峰》及《又見彩虹》被分別選定為首屆世界女子足球錦標賽會歌及第九屆全運會會歌；《矯健大中華》選定為第八屆全國少數民族運動會會歌；《又見彩虹》和《高原紅》榮獲第二屆中國音樂金鐘獎。
曾獲“中國十大詞曲作家獎”、“中國最傑出音樂人獎”、“中國金唱片獎最佳音樂人獎”、“全國人民喜愛的影視歌曲作家”以及“當代嶺南文化名人”、“廣東省音樂界領軍人物” 廣東流行音樂三十五周年慶典活動中，榮獲“廣東樂壇最具影響力音樂人”等榮譽稱號。
曾出任哈薩克斯坦第六屆亞洲之聲流行音樂大獎賽唯一的中國評委；中央電視臺全國青年歌手電視大獎賽總決賽評委；中國音樂金鐘獎流行音樂大賽總決賽評委；全球華人新秀歌唱大賽總決賽評委；上海國際音樂節總決賽評委會主任等多個全國各地歌唱大賽及創作大賽評委。
Chen graduated from the Chinese Department of Sun Yat-sen University as an undergraduate in 1982, titled as first class writer. Current Vice President of the Chinese Association of Pop Music Association, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Association of Music and Literature, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Musicians Association, Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Association of Pop Music, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Writers Association, President of the Guangdong Institute of Music and Literature, Vice President of Guangdong Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Promotion Association, Chairman of Guangzhou Association of Musicians, Honorary President of Pop Music Institute of South China University of Technology, Visiting Professor of the Academy of Music of South China Normal University.
He has produced more than 2000 songs, won various awards more than 200,and the representative works have “Billows”, “How are you, brother”, “I do not want to say”, “Nine nine daughter red”, “Across the peak”, “See the rainbow again”,”Highland red” and so on. “Across the peak” , “See the rainbow again” and “Greater China” were selected for the Anthem of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup,the Ninth National Games and the Eighth National Ethnic Games.Besides, “See the rainbow again” and “Highland red” won the second Chinese Music Golden Bell Award.
He was awarded the “China’s top ten songwriter Award”, “China’s most outstanding musician Award”, “China Gold Record Award for Best Music Award”, “National People’s favorite film song writer” and “Contemporary Lingnan culture celebrity”, “Guangdong music industry leader”.In the Guangdong Pop Music thirty-five anniversary celebration, he awarded the “Guangdong music’s most influential musicians” honorary title.
