Mandarin Song Playing and Singing Class | The 11th International Vocal Open Competition
Upholding the spirit of rigor, all-inclusiveness, and diversity in the arts, the 11th International Vocal Open Competition in 2024 has introduced Opera Session, Art Song Session, Folk Song Session, Pop Song Session (Mandarin Song Playing and Singing Class), Children’s Song Session and Contemporary A Cappella Session, Choral Session and Musical Theater Class.
With eight sessions and multiple classes, singers of all age groups can find their own spotlight in the stage within it. We welcome both professional vocal students and amateur enthusiasts to participate!
【Mandarin Song Playing and Singing Class】
It is a class that combines singing with instrument playing. It focuses on the performance of mandarin songs while playing instruments such as the guitar, piano, and more.
This class aims to showcase the musical creativity of participants and the diversity of Chinese music, providing a unique opportunity for singers who love Chinese music and possess musical talent.

Self-performed or assisted by a musician, maximum 3 persons (including the participant), backing vocal allowed.

No limited by age, gender or nationality.

Perform any one of the following repertoires. Duration must be within 5 mins. (Cover, adaptation styles and performance methods are unlimited. Transposition between major and minor keys is allowed.)

No electric instruments are allowed (except for electric piano and electric bass). Such rhythmic instruments as box drum, Djembe and shaker is accepted. Jazz drums are not allowed in this competition.
