Choral Session | Displaying the Harmony and Charm of Polyphonical Cooperation
Upholding the spirit of rigor, all-inclusiveness, and diversity in the arts, the 11th International Vocal Open Competition in 2024 has introduced Opera Session, Art Song Session, Folk Song Session, Pop Song Session (Mandarin Song Playing and Singing Class), Children’s Song Session and Contemporary A Cappella Session, Choral Session and Musical Theater Class.
With eight sessions and multiple classes, singers of all age groups can find their own spotlight in the stage within it. We welcome both professional vocal students and amateur enthusiasts to participate!
【Choral Session】 Chorus features harmony and polyphonic singing, presenting the magnificence and depth of music by intertwining various voices to reveal the complexity of music to the audience.
Unlike A Cappella, chorus focuses on polyphonic singing, including male, female, and mixed-voice choirs. A Cappella is a musical form that uses vocal imitation of musical instruments, typically without accompanying instruments, whereas choral singing can include the use of accompanying instruments. Additionally, choral singing emphasizes harmony and polyphonic singing, while A Cappella often pays more attention to sound effects and vocal innovation. Both of these classes have their unique features in the musical area, providing different types of musical experiences.
Choral Session aims to encourage choral teams and choirs to perform various musical works, showcasing the allure of teamwork in the harmony, and bringing the unique beauty of music to the international stage.
